Natalia Talks Baptism!

Story Team

If you have any questions about baptism, ‘What is Baptism‘ is held after every service on the first Sunday of the month!

We are always humbled when someone decides to take the step of baptism with us. It’s an amazing celebration to see someone take this public step forward in their commitment to Him, and it’s always a powerful feeling in the room. You will see a champagne bottle pop!

Each person has their own reasons for taking this step, so we connected with Natalia to hear more about her decision and experience.

Story Team: What was the feeling like when you got baptized?

Natalia: The second I got on the stage I got this incredible sense of calm and peace and gratitude. On stage, I felt the love and support of the entire church community, but when I closed my eyes to accept the baptism, I felt as though the entire world had stopped and I was sitting in the embrace of God. I was so happy to say “Yes” to God. I was presenting myself to God as His child. and I felt loved and supported by Him and by all my family and friends and the church community as witnesses.

Story Team: Who was there with you?

Natalia: I was joined on stage by my husband, my sister, and the majority of our dinner group, as well as some close friends from church. I felt they were also receiving the blessings of the holy spirit as they have seen a tremendous transformation that God has created in my life and around us.

Story Team: For another Hoboken Grace Community member who may be thinking about taking this step, what would you say to them?

Natalia: Don’t hesitate, do not show resistance; if the thought of getting baptized is already there it’s because your heart needs it. God speaks to us in different ways. If you’ve had the thought of getting Baptized it is because God is personally pursuing you.

Story Team: What made you take the step of baptism?

Natalia: For this, I have a simple answer and it is just the incredible love of God! God has shown me in many ways that He loves me, that I am His daughter and that I am not alone. He taught me with facts in my life that if I give Him the control He can do amazing things. He cured my heart of sadness and emptiness and He used me to save someone I love from the darkness. God forgave me and taught me to forgive, to love, and to be who I am. He has transformed my life completely so in an act of gratitude, love, and obedience I promised to Him I will demonstrate my faith in this way through Baptism. He is my holy father and I love Him. I trust Him and I boldly proclaim that He has all the control in my life.
